Distinction of

male cat from female 3 ways to

determine the sex of cats

Young cats' genitals do not appear as in adult cats, making it difficult to

identify the sex of cats and to distinguish a male cat from a female.

At first glance even professionals sometimes find it difficult to distinguish male

cats from female ones. But the sex of cats can be determined by observing some

distinctive unisex differences in kittens as young as five weeks old

such as genital spacing, fur color, and behavior.

These differences enable us to distinguish between a female cat and a male.

In this article we will learn about the difference between male and female cats

and how to determine the sex of cats especially small ones whose sex

is difficult to determine while the gender of big cats is easy to determine.

Treat with caution

while determining the sex of cats

It happens that we want to know early sex for several reasons including choosing

a suitable name for male or female cats, but despite this it is better

not to bother newborn kittens too much to know their gender.

If cats are treated too much

at an early age, the mother may abandon them and stop caring for them altogether.

And maybe this mother cat might pay to eat their little ones!

So don't worry too much to determine the gender of your little cat

instead wait until at least two weeks old or prefer longer to start dealing with it.

While determining the sex of your cat, it is necessary to reduce stress.

Start carrying her, stroking her gently, and snuggling her near your body.

Scrubbing her back at the base of the tail may automatically lift it giving you

a comprehensive view of the genitals. But if the cat suffers from panic or fear

leave the scan for a later date.

Discrimination of

cats' sex by genital organs

At two weeks old

some breeders resemble the appearance of cat genitals with punctuation marks.

Female genitals will resemble an upside-down exclamation mark or a letter

with a vertical vaginal incision just below the anus with very little spacing between

them (the distance between the anus and the vagina is very close in the female).

For a male cat"

the penis is below the anus and is separated by enough space to accommodate

his testicles. You may even be able to see small lumps in that space.

These small lumps are the testicles in development, which will grow as the cat

matures to its normal size (the distance between the anus and the reproductive

system is large in males as opposed to females).

If all cats look the same to you during visual observation

choose a small cat from your cats and lightly place your finger and thumb on

either side of the scrotum area (on a male suspect cat). Sensate two small

elliptically solid subcutaneous bodies. These are testicles and are almost impossible to catch because they slip away under your fingers. If the testicles are present and feel them with your fingers, the cat is male.

Distinction of

male cat from female by color :

Another simpler, but less reliable way to determine the sex of cats is through

the color of their coat. Cats of three mixed colors (sometimes called tortoise cats)

are often female. The chromosomal composition of female cats is solely responsible

for this coloring, so we can ensure that the cats carrying this color are female.

For male cats, orange or ginger-colored cats are often male. But this adjective

is not as reliable to distinguish male cats as the triple color characteristic for

females :

as only three quarters of ginger-colored cats are male

and not all cats carry this color.

Sex determination based on behaviour

As cats become larger, they begin to develop their unique characters.

Male cats may begin to wander around and try to stay away

as they approach sexual maturity.

Males often spray urine to protect their own areas at home to keep cats infiltrating.

Male cats are also more anxious and aggressive than females.

Young cat females (sometimes as old as four months)

  • may be subjected to heated and sexualized activity
  • thereby advertising "coming of age" with a loud meow
  • and attention-seeking behavior.

However :

the earlier you sterilize your cat (a maximum of five to six months with the

possibility of a baby cat sterilization procedure at the age of six to eight weeks)

the less vulnerable your cat is to these gender nuances in behaviour.

Some people claim that male cats are more friendly and friendly than female.

But this difference is by no means true. Cats have characters as diverse as humans.

That's why choose your pet through the connection that arises between you

at the first interaction and first feeling, and you don't care much about its gender.
