Do cats like music?
While playing some tunes at home, we might wonder, do cats like music?
And if it really is
what music do cats like? Since you won't see your cat dancing and hitting her
paws with rhythm, can you enjoy it!! Let's see what scientists
and musicians say about it.
What kind of music do cats like?
Do cats like music? Evidence in the purring sound you make.
In a study published by the Journal of Applied Animal Behavioral Science
researchers concluded that cats are actually influenced by music
as long as they are music they love.
But what kind of
music do cats love, and how do we know this?
Finally :
researchers cannot tell us whether cats prefer
Mozart's symphony to songs or culthums!!
David Tay :
an accomplished cellist who played with artists from the American National
Orchestra as well as the famous Mitalica band, composes music with
a rhythm that mimics purr, bird peeps and even the sound of breastfeeding.
It makes so-called "Genies-Appropriate Music" music.
This kind of :
music showed up with this artist and
as its name shows, music suitable for races other than human beings
David Tay called cat music the torpedoes he composes and gave his music to
researchers to study and test his theory that cats - especially baby and small
cats :
strongly favored music suitable for varieties over music made for humans.
How is this cat music?
- "In some passages, the sounds are similar to those of
- birds covered in accelerated streams to get a tonic effect
- as The New York Times reported, "The rise in the sounds of
- cat purr and lactation is designed to give a sense of relaxation
- and tranquillity in this music."
For now, music :
made specifically for cats aims to calm them down
not to make them dance. David Tay also told the Telegraph
where he asserted that it was partly due to the noise of sounds that "rough, high
pitched sounds don't have to be made" to convey more vivid
sounds so that cats can hear them.
Cats can hear frequencies up to 64,000 Hz
while humans can hear frequencies ranging from 20 to 20,000 Hz only, i.e.
cats hear five times better than humans according to the American
Journal of the Society of Totalitarian Veterinary Medicine (JAHVMA).
In other words :
cats will enjoy music in the range of their hearing frequency and with a rhythm
similar to that used in natural communication between cats
says Megan Savage and Charles Snowdon (psychologists
at the University of Wisconsin) in an article published on the PBS network.
But how do
these scientists determine that cats like this music or that?
It's simply that researchers auditioned music for a large number of cats
and then studied their interaction and noticed which cats would be screwed
subjected to loudspeakers or pointed their head and ears at the music
in this way the studies were
conducted according to the science journal sciencealert.
Do cats like music at home?
As we've previously touched, cats prefer the music of varieties, but that doesn't
mean you should avoid playing human music for them.
more important is the kind of music you choose and that's what we'll talk about.
In a study :
supervised by Dr. Susan Wagner
who specializes in treating animals with music at the Center for Holistic
Veterinary Medicine, classical music, pop and rock music were played
for 12 cats during sterilization. Cats reacted more positively to classical music
followed by pop music.
heavy metal dishes raised the heart rate and increased
the size of the pupils, in other words, they loved rock music and their rhythms.
For your cat's music playtime
any time is appropriate and there is no set time. If you choose to leave
music or TV on while you're out of the house, try to leave them quiet music.
Cats of all ages will appreciate the quiet sounds, be it classical music
nature sounds or music specially designed for them (music of varieties).
Can playing music for just-born cats help to grow
as can infants? In fact, there is no scientific evidence to support this
but this is certainly not going to hurt baby cats.
Music playlist format for cats
If you are interested in creating a playlist for your cat
friendonsider the sound frequencies favored by cats.
Artist David Tae uses cello, piano, flute and harp to create cat music, i.e.
quiet instruments you'll find in the musical compositions of Tchaikovsky
Vevaldi and Puccini. All of these composers
appear frequently on cat curated playlists.
If you are not a fan of classical music, look for other styles that appeal to you
and your cat, such as New Age music or sounds of nature. Then lie on a sofa
raise the sound and relax with your little friend.
We've touched on everything about the music that cats and cats love.
As an addition in the same vein, there are strange sounds loved
cats reached by a group of professional breeders in the United States
including the sound of frying, the sound of the doorbell
as well as the sound of opening the bag of chips.
